The Basic attention token is continuously taking action in furthering its mission. But first, a primer on the Brave Browser and the BAT.
The Basic attention token is a token that is about the Brave Browser founded by the co-creator of the Mozilla browser, Brendan Eich. The mission of the Brave Browser is to provide a web browser that is fast, free and secure, with built-in AdBlock, tracking and security protection, optimized data, and battery experience. The AdBlock Brave is designed with a built-in adblocker to provide an ad-free and seamless browsing experience.
The Brave Browser seeks to save individuals money as well potentially make them some money as well through their Basic Attention tokens. Basic attention tokens would allow for blockchain based digital advertising, allowing for an exchange between publishers, advertisers, and users. With all of it happening on the Ethereum blockchain.
“The utility of the BAT token is based on user attention, which simply means a person’s focused mental engagement.”
The Brave Browser plus the Basic Attention Token is supposed to allow for a new era.
“The Brave browser knows where users spend their time, making it the perfect tool to calculate and reward publishers with BATs. This service creates a transparent and efficient Blockchain-based digital advertising market. Publishers receive more revenue because middlemen and fraud are reduced. Users, who opt in, receive fewer but better targeted ads that are less prone to malware. And advertisers get better data on their spending.”
The BAT, the token of the Brave Browser will be launching a program to grow further demand for its new platform. The utility of the BAT goes up only where there is usage by consumers, and so it is important for the new platform to increase its level of users.
As such this is only the latest initiative for the platform to bring on more users as in the past, they have reached out to Youtubers and more to bring in more interest from a publisher and consumer standpoint. Before this, they stimulated their platform by giving individuals about five dollars in BAT to users to give to their favorite publishers and websites that they peruse.
As such, they are continuing their campaign to bring on more users, this time they are ramping it up a bit further and raising their incentive to one million dollars to bring in more interest.
The co-founder of Brave stated:
“We expect the BAT referral program to make it easy for publishers and YouTube creators to further monetize their content, and to expand their pool of contributors.”
Further Details on the Referral Program
This new referral program will be targeted toward publishers who have an increase in Brave Browser consumers. As a part of the referral program, verified publishers who can bring on more Brave browser users will be able to receive five dollars worth of US dollars.
As stated above, the project will be allocating one million dollars in tokens for this initiative.
Current Statistics on the Growth of the Brave Browser
The team over at the project states that they possess more than 7,000 publishers, with many of these being channels on the popular social media platform, YouTube.
